CLIENT’S BRIEF
Unique Logistics International, a global logistics and freight forwarding company, was recently acquired by DP World. With the organisation entering a new chapter, Unique’s leadership team in Singapore wanted to create a meaningful space for staff to reflect on how the acquisition might affect them, both personally and professionally - and explore what the future could hold.
WHAT WE DID
We facilitated a 4-hour LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® workshop to guide the team through key stages of transition, using the Bridges Transition Model to explore the emotional journey of change. The process unfolded in four stages:
Leaving Behind - Reflecting on what is ending, and what they feel they’re leaving behind
In-Between - Surfacing feelings of uncertainty, ambiguity, and not yet knowing
New Beginnings - Exploring possibilities in the context of organisational change
Personal Next Steps - Identifying simple, meaningful steps to move forward
From the outset, our focus was on creating a psychologically safe space for open, honest conversation through the context of ‘play’ and using LEGO models as a medium of expression.
While acknowledging the uncertainty, the workshop was also designed to gently shift perspectives - from ambiguity to possibility. This was explored through the building of a shared landscape, where the team visualised what embracing the change and thriving together could look and feel like, uncovering both common ground and diverse hopes.
THE OUTCOMES
While some members of the team tend to be more reserved, the playful, hands-on nature of the session made it easier for them to open up:
"Sharing ideas through models makes it easier to express feelings."
“The way each person tells their story reveals much about their creativity and character."
“The use of LEGO made it easier for introverts to share."
The session also served as a valuable pulse check, highlighting curiosity and questions around both structural changes and the development of team culture as they integrate into a larger organisation.
